Meet Jin Jin Heipler, a Front-End Developer here at LinkSquares. When they’re not coding like crazy for our LinkSquares products, they enjoy crushing it in CrossFit (literally), hanging out with their partner B and their friends, and co-leading LinkSquares’ new Employee Resource Group (ERG), LinksQueers.
Learn more about Jin Jin’s day-to-day life in their own words.
- What do you do at LinkSquares?
I’m a Front-End Developer, and I split my time between working on the Analyze product team and the UI-Kit team. All of my code revolves around the UI components and features that users interact with every day. On the UI-Kit team, I help create reusable and accessible elements like buttons, inputs, menus, etc. that will be utilized by other developers in our build organization. I’m also one of the leaders for LinkSquares’ new Employee Resource Group (ERG), LinksQueers!
- What does a typical day consist of for you?
I’m usually working on tickets that involve adding new functionality to existing features in Analyze, fixing UI-related bugs, or building new components that will be added to our UI-Kit.
- What’s different about our Build team?
One of the first things I noticed was how much cross-collaboration there is in our build org. Even though we have various teams within the build team, everybody seems to know (or tries to get to know) each other and what our different strengths are. This makes it so easy to get into contact with the right people if there is ever a problem. You never feel alone, and there are always people you can lean on. Our build team has a fun energy, which makes me look forward to doing my work and communicating with others each day.
- Why did you choose LinkSquares over other options?
I was immediately drawn to how much LinkSquares cares about its employees and making sure everyone feels enabled and supported as employees and (most importantly) as people. I could also tell how much people genuinely enjoy being part of this company, and I wanted to be part of the shared excitement over what we’re doing and where we’re going.
- What do you like to do in your free time?
When I’m not at work or programming, you can usually find me working out at CrossFit, out on a run, playing League of Legends, traveling with my friends, or spending time with my partner and our cat, Squeaky.
