Employee Spotlight: Stephen Stone

LinkSquares has many amazing customers and partners, including The Boston Celtics. Ever heard of them?

With the kickoff of a new season for the Celtics, no one is more excited than our Email Marketing Manager, Stephen Stone.

Steve is a lifelong Celtics fan and season ticket holder. While the entire LinkSquares team will be rooting for our newest business partner to win Banner 18 this year, Steve will likely be cheering the loudest. We sat down with him to discuss how he feels about two passions colliding and what he loves about the Celtics and LinkSquares.

  • What do you do at LinkSquares?

I am the Email Marketing Manager, and I work on the Content Marketing Team. In addition to writing and editing email copy, I’m currently developing strategies for campaign emails, nurtures, and newsletters, amongst other email types. The work is very exciting, and I’m thrilled to be part of such a great company!

  • What does a typical day consist of for you?

My primary objective every day is to learn! I’m still fairly new to LinkSquares, so there’s a lot to learn about our products and processes, but I’m also interested in what resonates with our audience. A lot of marketing is about testing, evaluating, and refining for optimized performance, and email marketing is no different. A typical day consists of reading, writing, editing, and reviewing the data from previous emails so I can leverage those learnings to improve subsequent campaigns.

  • What’s different about our marketing team?

I have worked on marketing teams in B2B tech for ten years now, and this is easily the most data-driven marketing operation I’ve ever been a part of. Lots of marketing departments aspire to be data-driven. LinkSquares actually does it. Campaigns are routinely quantified, measured, and optimized to ensure we directly impact the company’s goals and bottom line. The data-driven approach allows every team member to get recognized for their hard work.

  • Why did you choose LinkSquares over other options?

LinkSquares has a vision for what it wants to do and where it wants to go. Not many companies do this as well as LinkSquares does. They have great products and a clear message, which makes it easy to write emails about them. I’m a believer in working with the right people, and the members of my team are brilliant, kind, and hard-working. They make my job easier.

  • What do you like to do in your free time?

I’m a die-hard Boston Celtics fan and season ticket holder. This new season will be my eighth as a season ticket holder, and while I don’t go to as many games as I used to now that I’m a father of two, my passion for the team hasn’t waned. My family is a big basketball family, and I love taking my kids to the games. Working at LinkSquares is great because the arena is right down the street from our office, so it's an easy commute on nights when I do go to the games. I’m very excited about the LinkSquares and Celtics partnership. Just another reason to love this company!

If you’re also a diehard Celtics fan, Steve will see you at the gahden.
