Wouldn’t it just be the bee’s knees if there were someone who knows exactly what issues you're facing in your quest for the right legal technology? Well, it’s your lucky day because there is. Let us introduce you to one of our technical solutions attorneys (TSAs). TSAs are our superpower here at LinkSquares – they’re licensed attorneys who’ve been in your shoes and know the struggles of trying to manage everything on your plate while also being a strategic partner. They harness their wealth of experience in the legal field to help tailor demos for your unique use cases. And one of them happens to be Aidan Sullivan, our TSA team lead of more than two years, whom you might find at a Red Sox game or globetrotting when he’s not busy trying to make work easier for other lawyers. Here’s a quick Q&A so you can get to know him a little better.
Q. What made you want to become a lawyer?
A. At a very young age, I can remember always wanting to be a lawyer. I liked the idea of being able to argue or persuade individuals using logic and reasoning. I was also intrigued by the fact that lawyers have the option to work in many environments depending on their professional interests and needs.
Q. What type of law did you practice?
A. Prior to LinkSquares, I had experience in both healthcare and real estate.
Q. How did you end up at LinkSquares?
A. I never truly settled into one specific specialization or industry, and I was looking for a creative way to use my law degree. I felt and still feel that the legal tech space is at its infancy and wanted to explore an entirely new space. LinkSquares was a great opportunity to learn about the space and be able to grow professionally.
Q. What part of our mission here at LinkSquares do you connect with?
A. I love working with my direct legal team but also the business as a whole. LinkSquares follows a “team first” mentality that I strongly connect with and appreciate. It’s an extremely collaborative environment that’s open to new ideas and suggestions.
Q. During your demos with customers, have there ever been any memorable "aha" moments for them?
A. An aha moment from a customer has been the use of the Word Plug-in and how seamlessly clauses and fall-back provisions can be inserted during a negotiation.
Q. Which customer pain point is the most universal when you're giving a demo?
A. The pain point that is most universal is disorganization. People simply don’t have the insights or ability to quickly locate information inside of contracts or even the contracts themselves.
Q. What's your favorite part of your job?
A. My favorite part of the job is how every day is different. Each day brings new challenges, different perspectives, and new solutions. It is also a very fast-paced environment that allows me to work with a variety of individuals from different departments. I love the collaborative environment and being able to work cross-functionally to share ideas and expertise. And, of course, I love working with my direct peers on the TSA team.
Q. What motivates you?
A. I’m motivated by the people I work with and the problems we solve. As the legal technology space changes and adapts, so, too, does the LinkSquares product and the need to improve.
Q. What do you wish people knew about TSAs?
A. That each one of us brings a unique skill set to the table. We all come from different legal backgrounds that assist in our day-to-day jobs here at LinkSquares. We’re more than happy to help with any project or task that may arise.
Q. What’s your favorite lawyer movie?
A. “The Lincoln Lawyer.”
Q. What are some of your interests outside of work?
A. Outside of work, I’m a huge Boston sports fan. I love attending sporting events and traveling. I have been to 15 countries.
