It’s time to meet another one of our technical solutions attorneys (TSAs) here at LinkSquares. We hope you’ve been enjoying the profiles. But if this is your first time joining us, you may be wondering just what a TSA is. (Hint: It has absolutely nothing to do with the airport.) TSAs are licensed attorneys from various practice areas and sectors. They’ve been in your shoes when it comes to managing workloads and contract processes, so they know your pain points. They also know (and use) our products, and are here to help you figure out if LinkSquares has the right solution for your legal technology needs. And just like the diverse legal teams they talk to every day, each TSA brings their own special singularity to the role. The one you’ll meet today is Team Lead Kendra Lena, a former real estate attorney who isn’t afraid to jump out of planes. Here’s a Q&A with more of her story.
Q. What made you want to become a lawyer?
A. I first gravitated towards the law through an interest in environmental law. Soon after, I realized how unique the study of law is since it touches every aspect of our lives and businesses. After that, I realized that going to law school and obtaining a degree could open doors in various ways – not just the more traditional litigation work. I think I've always had an interest in nontraditional legal work, and being here at LinkSquares at the forefront of legal technology is definitely that.
Q. What type of law did you practice?
A. My background is in real estate law.
Q. How did you end up at LinkSquares?
A. I came here through a mutual connection with one of our former TSAs. She and I had previously worked together at a small real estate firm in Boston. Because she was already at LinkSquares, I was able to understand the job, ask her questions, and ultimately choose to come to work here to start my career in the legal tech space.
Q. What part of our mission here at LinkSquares do you connect with?
A. I really connect with our company value of "Team First" because I think who you work with and who you're surrounded by has such an impact on the product. Here at LinkSquares, I not only work with my direct TSA team, but we also work dynamically with the larger organization, from the sales and customer success teams to product and legal as well. I'm blessed to be surrounded by such hardworking, dedicated, bright individuals on my team and I think that our dedication and drive ultimately improve the product we’re selling.
Q. Are there any moments that stand out as your favorite experience as a TSA?
A. I think the best part of being a TSA is that our role is so unique in that it allows us to work with various aspects of the company. We work directly with the new business sales team, with our customer success team, with legal and security for reviews or even RFP work, with our contract operations team for product trials, and with product as well to continue the loop of continuous product feedback and suggestions from customers.
Q. What motivates you?
A. My team continuously motivates me. Our TSA team consists of individuals who are driven, extremely hardworking, and who are all dedicated to helping all members of our organization for different purposes. It's hard not to be motivated coming to work with this group.
Q. What do you wish people knew about TSAs?
A. We're technically not in sales! While we work closely with the sales and customer success teams, we're all licensed attorneys with histories in various aspects of law, from real estate to civil litigation. Our job is to really work with the sales team to understand your use case and to show how LinkSquares could resolve those issues that a lot of our customers in legal, finance, procurement, etc., face daily.
Q. What’s your favorite lawyer movie?
A. A Few Good Men
Q. What are some of your interests outside of work?
A. Outside of work, I love spending time with friends and family and love engaging in various rec leagues for soccer and other sports
